Job Purpose and Scope

 

This position requires the ability to discuss technical topics about an extensive portfolio of measurement equipment and a diverse set of applications used across various industries to identify customers’ existing/hidden needs or challenges, and provide the right solution. The role also involves working closely with customers/partners, senior sales managers, other sales managers, staff in different departments as well as  promoting sales of products and services by offering reliable solutions to clients and ensuring compliance with security and safety regulations.  As a member of the sales team, the Sales Manager will build shared knowledge and expertise.

 

 

Main Activities and Core Processes

 

The main focus of the position will be the sales of our Industrial measurement instruments and related services.  This will be accomplished by working closely with our Customer Success team, Application & Business Development team, Service team, and other sales managers.  The position is responsible for achieving sales targets in the assigned sectors, generating leads proactively, following up on sales leads and opportunities, and managing sales accounts / channels. The role involves responsibility for a specific sales area, with periodic travel to that area required. It requires the ability to correspond to technical questions, recognize/find out existing and hidden customer needs.

    • Promote our industrial measurement instruments and related services with logical and strategic thinking.
    • A results-oriented sales mindset that relies on logical thinking to take the most probable actions and achieve the goal, no matter how difficult the situation.
    • Collaborate with customer success team and clients to promote the sale of products and services, involve the related people to proceed with the task.
    • Lead generation proactively by utilizing sales channels or End user high touch sales activities.
    • Effectively utilize Salesforce to handle a high volume of incoming leads from marketing activities or developed with channels, and to convert them to prospective opportunities.
    • Actively interview the customers with curiosity and find out the hidden needs.
    • Help and collaborate with other sales managers, customer success team, other departments, and clients to reach sales targets in the assigned sectors as a individual and also as a team.
    • Correspond to customers' inquiries and propose equipment or services for a diverse set of applications.
    • Handle difficult situations or customers by using negotiation skills and with a tough mentality.
    • Organize regular meeting (e.g. QBR) with selected sales channels or key accounts to review sales progress and to discuss the next action items.
    • Customer / channel visit physically or remotely by using digital tool – domestic business travel is required.
    • Update sales status or issues with the supervisor/related people regularly or in timely manner.
    • Think positively with result-oriented mindset and logical thinking. Always explore how to achieve rather than looking for a reason not to be able to do.
    • Fluent Japanese and business level English.

 

Educational Requirements

 

    • Prefer to Bachelor of Electrical Engineering, Science /Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Environmental Engineering or equivalent
    • Commitment to continual improvement and technical training

 

Required Work Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of sales experience in industrial market.

Experience in the HVAC/BA/Measurement instruments-related industries is a plus.

  • Channel management experience - goal setting, QBR, channel enablement.
  • Account management experience - Stakeholder analysis, issue resolution, negotiation, support for  customer success and so on through whole sales process.
  • Online meeting experience – facilitation and presentation.
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint,  Salesforce, and SAP(S/4, SAC)
