What's your role ?

Bridging Chinese suppliers with a European based global organization.
As a Local/Regional Sourcing Manager, you will be responsible for sourcing and managing local suppliers in China and potentially in Asia, especially in electronics, mechanics and electromechanics. You will execute sourcing activities and manage supplier performance in close cooperation with our global Category Managers and both local and global stakeholders (e.g. Purchasing, Quality, Operations).

This is a medium-level individual contributor role: you work independently with your supplier portfolio, but you are not expected to lead a team. You will report to the Head of Directs Sourcing based in Finland, and collaborate closely with Category Managers, who provide category strategies and guidance but are not your line managers.

Key responsibilities

  • Implementing global category and supplier strategies with local suppliers in China.
  • Identifying, qualifying and developing suppliers in electronics, mechanics, electromechanics and potentially in EMS.
  • Running sourcing activities (RFQ/RFI, benchmarking, cost breakdown analysis, supplier selection support, contract implementation) within agreed mandate and frameworks.
  • Managing and improving supplier performance on delivery, cost, responsiveness, quality and sustainability together with Purchasing, Quality and Operations.
  • Driving local cost improvement, localization and productivity initiatives.
  • Monitoring supplier risk and support & drive risk mitigation actions.
  • Providing structured feedback and insights from local suppliers and market to Category Managers and the Head of Directs Sourcing.
  • Supporting new product introductions and engineering changes from sourcing and supplier perspectives.
  • Handling supplier-related escalations in a systematic way and following up on corrective and improvement actions.

What we expect from you

Background and experience

  • Several years of relevant experience in sourcing, procurement or supply chain roles (not entry level), ideally in an international company.
  • Solid experience working with Chinese suppliers in EMS, electronics, mechanics or electromechanics industry.
  • Prior experience working with European companies is a strong advantage, and will help you succeed in our Finland-based organization.
  • Familiarity with sourcing processes and tools: RFQ/RFI, supplier evaluation, negotiations, contract implementation, performance follow-up.
  • Experience working in a matrix environment or with remote stakeholders is beneficial.

Skills and competencies

  • Strong execution and ownership mindset: you are able to work independently within your area, yet know when to escalate or seek support.
  • Good negotiation and influencing skills
  • Ability to understand technical drawings and specifications, and discuss feasibility, cost drivers and lead times with suppliers.
  • Analytical and structured way of working, able to use data and KPIs to support decisions and reporting.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills; comfortable interacting with suppliers and colleagues in China and Europe.
  • Proactive, curious and improvement-minded; you seek opportunities to enhance cost, quality and supply performance rather than just maintain the status quo.

Education and language skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in supply chain, business, engineering or a related field.
  • Fluent Mandarin and good English skills (both written and spoken) are required to collaborate effectively with Chinese suppliers and our Finland-based teams.
  • Additional language skills are a plus.

What we offer

A key role with clear impact and international exposure.

  • Independent role with clear responsibility for a defined supplier portfolio.
  • Opportunity to work closely with a Finland-based global leader and category managers, acting as a bridge between Chinese suppliers and European stakeholders.
  • Exposure to international sourcing, category management and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Support from experienced colleagues in Finland and France, and opportunities to grow your expertise over time.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits, with a professional and respectful working environment.
