The business area serves selected weather-dependent customers to whom accurate, real-time, uninterrupted, and reliable weather data is essential to run efficient operations.



Position Description:
We are currently searching for a Sales Manager supporting Latin America.  This person will develop and manage a high performing Weather and Environment business for Vaisala’s sales in selected countries in Latin America.  The main responsibility will be to continue to grow revenue of our existing business by maximizing the sales of Vaisala’s Weather and Environment offering.  This will be done with a focus on prospecting, investigating, developing and consultative selling primarily to end-users in selected Latin American countries. 


Your key responsibilities include:

  • Investigating and developing new opportunities and fostering relationships within these markets
  • Finding and assessing new representative and other partner candidates when necessary
  • Developing a sales strategy to win new customers 
  • Sell solutions that include instruments, data and processing equipment to these markets 
  • Achieving sales budget, profitability and cost-efficiency 
  • Leading performance through setting and meeting clear targets
  • Providing Sales Forecasts
  • Providing market requirements back to the Market Segment 
  • Actively facilitate closer relationships with the customers
  • Creating sales proposals and quotations



  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Technology and 5 years of related experience.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5 or more years of experience in working at the customer interface in Latin America
  • 3 or more years of experience working in the weather and environment market in Latin America is strongly preferred 
  • Application knowledge of weather and environment offering from Vaisala is strongly desired
  • Good understanding of the Latin American business culture.
  • Fluent (oral and written) in Spanish and English Language
  • Commercial negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication skills – re:  articulate, effective and persuasive communicator.
  • Highly motivated and self-driven with the ability to develop a deep understanding of customer processes and solutions.
