Industrial Measurements business area serves a wide range of industries and applications ranging from pharmaceutical to food industries, and from warehouses to power transformers. It offers a broad range of accurate and reliable measurement instruments based on the cutting-edge technology to help our customers optimize their processes, improve efficiency, minimize energy consumption, and ensure the high quality of their end-products. 


Position Description:
We are currently searching for a Sales Manager to join our team in Mexico City, Mexico.  This person will build up, develop, and manage the business growth of Power & Energy in the assigned region (All North LAM sub-region). To be successful in this role, you will effectively communicate and understand the needs and wants of the customers in the different targeted sectors.  You will want to gain an in-depth knowledge of the company products, solutions, and services as well as procedures and policies. 


In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Map the different target electric power segments / potential accounts (public and private) in all NLAM countries and know about their potential using tools and techniques, such as direct visits to customers, information from websites, chambers of commerce and government institutions, networking, etc.
  • Understand the regulations of the sector related to this business and be active in the group discussions & forums of the different committees and group of influencers. 
  • Detect and develop business opportunities across main related accounts in generation, transmission, and distributions companies as well as industry customers.  
  • Sales of our Power & Energy portfolio to end users, OEM’s, contractors, EPC’s, etc.
  • Work closely with, train, develop, and enhance capabilities and engage the partners in the region to develop relationships and network at the different levels of the different potential and target customers.  
  • Work in close cooperation with our marketing, customer service group, and technical support experts, product area, as well as peers across the region, to attend trade shows, seminars, and focused technical presentations/webinars 
  • Develop and execute growth plan in the assigned region
  • Efficiently responding to customer inquiries and answering technical sales questions and recommend equipment for a diverse application
  • Create sales proposals and quotations
  • Track activities in Salesforce CRM and have it continuously updated 


We’re looking for people who have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical or similar relevant discipline 
  • 7 - 10 years of related technical and / or inside & outside sales experience
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Spanish and English
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills
  • Proactive and team attitude is a must
  • Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time to support customers, trade shows, events, and customer visits
  • Market, product, and application knowledge & understanding of technical documentation
  • Negotiation skills 
  • Customer focus with ability to communicate service features and benefits
  • Knowledge of core processes (marketing, sales, delivery, product, after sales) 
  • Reliable, acts with a sense of urgency, work in a collaborative team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct analytics and solve problems 
  • Able to lead-self through time managements, organization, and prioritizing tasks
  • Act with integrity, aligned with Vaisala values
  • Experience in MS office- word, excel, outlook, power-point
