Industrial Measurements business area serves a wide range of industries and applications ranging from pharmaceutical to food industries, and from warehouses to power transformers. It offers a broad range of accurate and reliable measurement instruments based on the cutting-edge technology to help our customers optimize their processes, improve efficiency, minimize energy consumption, and ensure the high quality of their end-products. 




Position Description:
We are searching for a talented and motivated Technical Support Specialist/Field Technician to join our Industrial Measurements team to provide technical support to our Latin America customer on our Viewlinc, Liquid Measurement, and Power and Energy products. This position may be called on to support onsite installation, calibrations, and support services for our viewLinc® continuous monitoring system product line as well as Liquid Measurement and Power and Energy.  This position will be located in Mexico City, Mexico.


Vaisala is a market leader in environmental monitoring systems designed to meet the stringent requirements of FDA regulated GxP customers. Our environmental monitoring system products are part of our global Industrial Measurements business unit, which develops measurement technologies and sells to thousands of customers in life science, power transmission and many other industrial application markets.


This role requires a background that encompasses instrumentation, computer networking and metrology. Traveling is expected to customer sites therefore, this role must live within the assigned geographical territory with close proximity to a major international airport. GAMP knowledge and experience with electronic records in the pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing industries (FDA 21 CFR Part 11) is extremely valuable.  



Your key responsibilities include:

  • Provide instrumentation service both by phone and/or on site.
  • Troubleshooting, configuration, and documentation of calibrations performed.
  • Provide instrumentation training to customers.
  • Provide Warranty Support via Phone/email/Salesforce
  • Accurately documents instrumentation service work performed.
  • Planning and scheduling work with clients.
  • Managing workload to maintain effectiveness and productivity.
  • Manage expenses and service report. 
  • Assist with developing internal process improvements and documentation.
  • Onsite Point calibrations (as needed)
  • Onsite installations (as needed)
  • Plan and book own travel



  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and 2 or more years of experience in a technical professional role.  Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certified training in either metrology, computers or electronics a plus.
  • Knowledge of low voltage analog signal wiring and basic circuit diagnostics.
  • Familiarity with both wired and wireless TCP/IP networks.
  • Self-motivated and ability to work independently.
  • Strong problem solving, communication and organizational skills with a penchant for quality and attention to detail.
  • Current Passport and willingness to travel domestically/internationally, up to 80% annually.
  • Ability to work at elevation, enclosed spaces, and in cold environments.
  • Must be fluent in English and Spanish (Portuguese speaking plus).
