Training Path Creation Trainee

We are looking for a Training Path Creation Trainee to join our R&D Development Team at Vaisala headquarters in Vantaa, Finland. Join us in organizing existing and new learning resources into a clear structure for (Product Owners) PO’s and (Project Managers) PM’s, enabling them to maintain key competencies.

What will your summer look like?
• The project focuses on designing and implementing structured training paths within the company’s training portal for two key roles: R&D Project Managers and Software Product Owners.
• These paths will combine e-learning and other learning elements (such as live trainings, competence development groups, coaching and business-focused trainings) into a clear overall structure for POs and PMs, supporting their professional development and onboarding.
• You will not be creating training materials or trainings yourself; instead, you will curate, organize and structure existing and new content.
• In addition to the main project, you will also support and coordinate other development team initiatives related to program management.

• This serves as an enabler for executing our new Portfolio organization strategy.
What are the expected results?
• The main goal is to create a user‑friendly and logical training experience that provides a clearer understanding of what is expected from the R&D Project Manager and Software Product Owner roles.
What would a successful outcome of the project look like?
• A successful outcome would include a clear and complete training path for each role, published in the training portal. All new R&D Project Managers and Software POs will gain a solid competence foundation in the Vaisala context, where R&D is a strategic tool for the business.
What the trainee could learn during the trainee period?
• Collaboration with stakeholders (e.g., R&D Project Managers, SW Product Owners, managers) for feedback and validation.
• Documenting progress and preparing a final project report.
To what kind of a team the trainee would join? Who they would work with during the trainee period?
• You will be part of an active and positive development team, so you won’t be working alone. You will join our six‑person team, all of whom are senior‑level managers.
• Together, we are developing the system that defines how our 250‑person R&D organization works and is trained. Through this work, you will learn why R&D is considered the “crown jewel” of a high‑tech company like Vaisala—because R&D creates all the new products that fuel our global business.
Practicalities: location, possibility of remote work?
• The location is Vaisala Headquarters in Vantaa. In practice, you will work in the same R&D building as the rest of the team. We work mostly on-site, with only occasional remote work.
