Tax Manager

What's your role?

You will be part of our Group Tax Team, which is part of the Finance & Control organization at Vaisala. Together with your colleagues you will have an excellent opportunity to ensure that taxes are efficiently managed throughout the group. While your primary focus will be on indirect taxation, you will also contribute to direct tax and transfer pricing matters. You will work in close co-operation with business, finance and legal. Moreover, you will also collaborate with external stakeholders such as external advisors and tax authorities. You will report to Head of Tax.

In this role you will:

  • Develop Vaisala’s tax processes and controls in line with best practices and Vaisala’s Tax Strategy  
  • Provide day-to-day tax support to the business and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct tax analysis relating to project deliveries and new country operations collaborating with external consultants, as needed.
  • Participate in change projects relating to indirect tax (such as ViDA)
  • Serve as indirect tax expert for SAP S/4HANA system purposes
  • Execute tasks relating to transfer pricing and contribute to the development of the Group’s transfer pricing model.
  • Conduct tax trainings and develop internal instructions
  • Monitor legislative changes and assess their impacts on Vaisala
  • Manage tax audits
  • Prepare tax related disclosures to the Group’s annual report, e.g. Vaisala’s tax footprint or IFRS tax notes. 

 

What will you bring?

  • Previous working experience from taxation e.g. from Big 4, law firms, multinational firms or tax administration. We hope you're excited to grow professionally, even in areas that may be new to you. Our team members will support you throughout the learning process, where needed.
  • Good understanding of international tax laws and practices

 

  • Experience of managing work with external consultants and ability to interpret and apply advice relating to foreign tax systems

 

  • Good team working skills and willingness to take initiative and lead your own work in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

 

  • Interest in achieving efficiency through AI and automation in tax operations

 

  • Excellent communication skills in English

 

  • Master’s degree in law, accounting or business administration
