We are now looking for a Summer Trainee, Science to join our Sensors R&D organization at Vaisala Weather and Environmental headquarters in Vantaa.


You will be part of our product development project team consisting of professionals of different domains. Together with the team, you will have an excellent opportunity to develop world class product for environmental measurements. In this role you will be working in close co-operation with scientists, engineers, project manager and product manager. You will report to R&D manager.




You will learn how environment impacts on measurement devices. You will learn how to apply theory into practice. You will get touch on product development. Your work is meaningful - findings and results may have a direct impact on the product design.

You will make tests and experiments both indoors laboratory facility as well as on the outdoor test field at Vaisala campus. In more details, you will study impact of water droplets on the measurement device and evaluate methods to manage the phenomenon. You will work together with, and you will be supported by, the project team.

  • You are curious to learn and understand weather and environmental phenomena and physics behind.
  • You have at least two years of studies behind, either physics or relevant engineering domain.
  • You have a hands-on attitude. You are familiar with hand tools, experience on connecting devices to a computer is an asset.
  • You are fluent in English both verbally and in writing, understanding Finnish is an asset.
