Summer Trainee, Cost Cycle

We are looking for a Trainee, Cost Cycle Specialist to join our global Cost Cycle team at Vaisala Oyj headquarters in Vantaa, Finland.

What will your summer look like?

• As a trainee in the cost cycle team, you will, for example, get hands-on experience on global invoice-to-pay processes and procedures including direct taxes and learn how accounts payable play crucial part of the whole accounting process. You will also participate in a monthly closing practices and depending on your capabilities and learning curve, you can be assigned to help the team also in development topics
• After the onboarding period, the cost cycle trainee will get few own entities to run, where the key tasks are to ensure that group’s accounts payables are processed properly and efficiently in the invoice processing tool and ERP system, match invoices to purchase orders and receipts, ensure correctness in indirect taxes and participate in month-end closing procedures of accounts payable
• In general, Vaisala’s cost cycle processes ensures that all costs are paid in time and costs and taxes are recorded correctly in the bookkeeping. As a member of this team, you will have important role to run these processes accurately and efficiently
• In your role you will be working daily with eight cost cycle professionals, and your other relevant stakeholders are group’s revenue cycle, G/L and tax teams and different parties from operations and business lines
• Well performing individual may be offered a part-time continuity after the summer period
• Position is in Vantaa, and we work in a hybrid setting

• Applicable educational background
• Experience to work with ERP systems or readiness to learn quickly, SAP experience is seen as a plus 
• Some understanding about accounting practicalities and taxes, gained e.g. via studies
• Life experience gained to work or study in a multinational context is seen as a plus
• Fluent written and spoken Finnish and English
