Sourcing Project Manager

We are looking for a Sourcing Project Manager to join our team at Vaisala’s headquarters in Vantaa. Join us and take the lead in global production technology transfer projects—relocating manufacturing from one supplier to another across the world.

What's your role?

You will be part of our global sourcing team of experienced professionals. You are a hands-on, proactive, fast, and decisive leader who thrives in technology transfer projects. You can drive progress and deliver results, even in ambiguous situations. A willingness to travel, which could include an extended stay at a foreign site, is essential for success in this position.

You will manage and coordinate transfer projects involving mechanical and electronic sub-assemblies or entire products between manufacturing sites. You will work closely with sourcing colleagues, R&D, production teams, and suppliers to ensure smooth transitions and effectively resolve operational challenges. You will report to the Senior Manager, Business Area Sourcing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead global production technology transfer projects from start to finish.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution.
• Manage supplier relationships and resolve operational challenges.
• Drive project progress and ensure timely delivery of results.

What will you bring?

• Strong experience in supply chain management, procurement, or sourcing operations.
• Proven project management skills and excellent communication skills.
• An analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams and manage multiple stakeholders with influencing skills and the confidence to intervene when needed
• Capability to prioritize and make decisions in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, engineering, or a related technical/commercial field.
• International Project Management Association – D (IPMA) or equivalent certification is required.
