Software Architect

We are looking for a Software Architect to join our Products and Technologies development team in the Weather and Environment business area at Vaisala headquarters in Vantaa, Finland.

What's your role? 

As a Software Architect, you will be a key player in advancing the Vaisala Observation Network Manager—a comprehensive solution that oversees all weather sensors within a network. This platform offers seamless, off-the-shelf network management, connecting systems, sensors, and devices to enable centralized, real-time monitoring and quality-controlled data collection. With capabilities like device status monitoring, automated alerts, and detailed reporting, it ensures the highest level of network performance and reliability. 

Collaborate & Innovate: Work closely with the development team and product management to drive product advancements. 

Translate Vision into Design: Transform business requirements into robust, scalable technical solutions. 

Lead Product Evolution: Shape the future of our product by leading architecture design, integrating new technologies, enhancing development practices, and optimizing testing. 

Ensure Excellence in Delivery: Guide the development team to deliver high-quality, high-performance software that meets rigorous production standards. 

What will you bring? 

Proven Experience: Hands-on software development background with a track record as a Software Architect. 

Full-Stack Expertise: Experience designing end-to-end solutions using technologies such as Java, JavaScript, React, as well as working with SQL and NoSQL databases. 

Strong Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of REST, microservice architecture, and modern CI/CD pipelines, alongside best practices in testing. 

Leadership Potential: Ability to take a technical lead role, guiding the team and driving projects forward. 

Collaborative Mindset: A self-driven team player who is eager to support others and communicate effectively in English.
