Senior Software Developer, Renewable Energy

We are looking for a Senior Software Developer to join our Vaisala Compass team at the Vantaa headquarters (hybrid work available). Compass is a cloud-based weather intelligence platform used by wind and solar energy producers for planning and managing renewable energy farms. Help us create software that benefits the planet!

What's your role?

You will be part of our Vaisala Compass Team of 15 passionate Developers and Architects. We generally use Scrum best practices, but we are not constrained by them and have the freedom to choose practical ways of working to foster productive collaboration.

Your daily tasks would vary between writing code as a member of Team, participating in software design and planning as well as implementing and running test cases.

As part of Team, you will have an excellent opportunity to be part of building and designing hands-on the next capabilities of this world-class Product for the Renewable Energy industry Vaisala transforms weather-based decision-making for renewable energy industry.

What will you bring?

• 7 to 10+ years of experience with software development hands-on
• We have a lot of development of both backend and frontend – based on your own interest you can choose to work in either of them, or both if you like.
• Excellent teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills and mindset
• Ability to produce quality software with test automation and continuous delivery
• Working with cloud platforms and tools (e.g. AWS, Kubernetes)
• Fluent spoken and written English

Our current buzzwords: Java, Spring, React, TypeScript, Message brokers, REST API, CI/CD, Infra-As-Code, Kubernetes, Docker, Keycloak
