What's your role?

As IT Security Architect, you will report directly to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and play a key role in defining and enforcing security architecture principles across Vaisala’s IT, digital, and shared platforms. This role balances innovation and business alignment with cyber risk management and regulatory compliance.  

You will:  

• Define and maintain enterprise-wide security architecture frameworks across IT and digital domains, including Vaisala’s product ecosystem.  

• Ensure secure design and compliance across cloud services and enterprise platforms (e.g., CRM, ERP).  

• Support the adoption of Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) and DevSecOps practices within Digital Excellence teams.  

• Conduct threat modeling, cyber risk assessments, and architecture reviews for enterprise and product platforms.  

• Oversee security of cloud, SaaS, hybrid IT, and IoT/OT environments.  

• Collaborate with R&D, engineering, IT, and business stakeholders to embed security into innovation initiatives.  

• Promote security awareness, training, and compliance across the organization.

What will you bring?  

You are passionate about cybersecurity and think like an attacker to proactively prevent incidents. You have solid experience in both defensive and offensive security, and understand how to apply that knowledge to scalable, practical solutions.

Your qualifications include:  

• Proven experience in cybersecurity, particularly in architecture and application security.  

• Proficiency with agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, SAFe).  

• Deep knowledge in areas such as Cloud platforms and cloud security, Secure development and application security, Penetration testing and ethical hacking, ERP and CRM system security  

• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CSSLP, CEH) are advantageous but not mandatory.  

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical audiences and collaborate across organizational boundaries.  

• Engagement with industry communities and awareness of emerging threats and best practices.
