Vaisala is a global leader in measurement instruments and intelligence helping industries, nations, people, and the planet to thrive. From predicting hurricanes to optimizing renewable energy production, our technology is used where it matters the most – from data centers, windfarms and laboratories to airports, the Arctic and even the surface of Mars. Our team of close to 2,500 experts and 62 nationalities around the world is committed to taking every measure for the planet. Driven by our shared purpose, curiosity, and pioneering spirit, we stay ahead and make a difference. At Vaisala, you don’t have to fit in to belong.
Why join us?
-
Shape the future of connected transmitters. Own the direction of a complete platform spanning embedded and Linux-based, cloud-connected industrial products.
-
A clear mandate from roadmap to results. Drive everything from software direction and roadmap to commercial growth and competitive position – with real ownership of how successful the portfolio becomes.
-
Work where it matters most. Stay close to our customers, applications, and industries together with Sales and application experts, uncovering the needs that truly matter.
-
Turn insight into impact. Translate customer and market needs into clear product decisions that strengthen Vaisala's position in industrial measurement.
What’s your role?
-
Driving the product direction, roadmap, and business outcomes for our connected transmitters – including growth, profitability, and competitive position
-
Identifying customer, application, and industry needs by engaging closely with customers, partners, and our Sales and application experts
-
Turning those insights into clear product priorities, requirements, and competitive positioning
-
Owning product requirements and software backlogs together with R&D, defining epics, priorities, and acceptance criteria, and providing product-level architectural direction where needed
-
Bringing strong software product management practices into our development work, helping us evolve toward more agile, iterative, and faster delivery – including the practical use of AI in both our products and our ways of working
-
Translating technical capabilities into clear customer value propositions together with Product Marketing, and supporting Sales with portfolio guidance
-
Managing product lifecycle decisions – introductions, updates, and phase-outs – to keep the offering coherent and competitive
What will you bring?
-
Several years of product management experience with software-driven, embedded, or connected hardware products in an industrial B2B environment
-
Strong grasp of modern software development practices – agile, iterative releases, backlog management, and pragmatic use of AI in both products and development – with a track record of helping teams deliver faster
-
Credibility to shape technical direction together with R&D, lead through influence in a matrixed, global organization, and contribute at the product-architecture level when needed
-
Genuine business ownership mindset – a track record of moving commercial outcomes, not just shipping features
-
Strong customer and application orientation, skilled at uncovering customer, application, and industry needs and translating them into product decisions
-
Relevant technical or engineering degree (e.g., software, electronics, automation) or equivalent practical experience; familiarity with measurement instruments or industrial automation is an advantage
