Process Engineer

We are looking for a Process Engineer to join our Process Engineering and Support team at Instrument Factory at Vaisala headquarters in Vantaa, Finland. Join us to see and learn how word-class production system works.

What's your role?

You will be part of our Process Engineering and Support team of 12 professionals. The role of a process engineer is to support a specific manufacturing team. Your role is to secure that factory targets concerning delivery time, quality and performance are reached in your responsibility area together with other support functions and team leaders. You are often the first person on site when problems occur, you will coordinate problem solving, lead the experts and work persistently to return the status back to normal with highest priority.  You also actively seek opportunities for safety, quality and productivity related improvements. Your work is done mostly at the factory so there is only limited remote work possibility.

Your tasks include the following:  

•    Ensuring the continuity of the production.

•    Follow up of factory metrics and proactively finding ways to enhance the production performance.

•    Development projects.

•    Creating work instructions and other documentation.

•    Quality hold containment actions and investigations. 

•    Process monitoring and SPC. 

What will you bring?


•    Experience on manufacturing processes. 

•    Strong IT skills, fluency with Excel and ability to analyze data.

•    Ability to summarize, report and visualize issues clearly.

•    Active approach and genuine interest to high tech manufacturing.  

•    Systematic and logical way of working.

•    Strong social and communication skills to co-operate actively and clearly with factory personnel and other stakeholders, fluency in English.

•    Special interest to work safety and manufacturing quality.

•    Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering is seen as an advantage.
