Process Engineer Trainee

We are now looking for a Process Engineer trainee to join our instrument factory organization at Vaisala headquarters in Vantaa. You can ideally start in May 2026 and work until end of August 2026.

You will be part of our Process Engineering and Support team. Together with the team, you will have an excellent opportunity to maintain and improve the manufacturing of world-leading industrial measurement instruments. In this role you will be working in close co-operation with production operators and process engineers. You will report to Manager, Process Engineering and Support.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?
You will focus on different production support tasks. Your role is to support process engineers in a factory (ESD) environment with their daily duties listed below. Your work is done mostly at the factory so there is no remote work option. Process Engineers will assign you tasks and support and give guidance to complete the tasks as needed. Examples of the tasks could be:

 

  • Finding opportunities for cost savings, e.g PIC reduction, scrap reduction
  • Development projects, contributing to defined tasks
  • Supporting Team Leaders with daily operational reporting
  • Corrective actions, completing defined tasks
  • Updating and creating work instructions
  • Follow up existing factory metrics, returning to normal level
  • General tester problem/Production Support requests

  • Strong social and communication skills to co-operate actively and clearly with factory personnel
  • Active approach and genuine interest to High tech manufacturing
  • Systematic and logical way of working
  • Good analytical skills
  • English Language is mandatory, Finnish beneficial
  • Special interest to work safety and manufacturing quality
  • This is a great opportunity for bachelor’s or master’s degree students and recent graduates with relevant study background

 

Please note that the job requires standing, bending, and light lifting.
