Indirect Purchasing Trainee

We are now looking for an Indirect Purchasing Trainee to join our well performing Sourcing organization at Vaisala headquarters in Vantaa for the upcoming summer. Together with the team, you will have an excellent opportunity to contribute to our goal of further improving operational excellence and expanding indirect purchasing process implementation at Vaisala.

What will your summer look like? 

• You will join our dynamic Indirect Sourcing team, which exhibits a strong collaborative mindset. The team comprises ten skilled professionals responsible for both strategic sourcing and operative purchasing 

• Your primary duties will involve doing indirect purchases from requisition and quote handling to purchase order placement, added with invoice handling related queries  

• Monitoring open purchase orders and supplier order confirmations until goods receiving are a part of your daily routines 

• You will collaborate closely with suppliers and engage with various stakeholders across Vaisala, providing end-user support regarding purchasing methods and processes 

• This position offers an excellent opportunity to enhance your competencies in operative indirect purchasing processes and related systems. 

• Depending on your prior experience and learning objectives, you may also be involved in additional activities associated with indirect purchasing or sourcing 

What will you bring? 

• Ability to work independently, prioritize and take operational decisions 

• Customer service mindset and a proactive, solution-focused way of working 

• Bachelor / Master level studies of purchasing, sourcing, supply chain management, or related field 

• Fluent written and spoken English, Finnish skills are beneficial 

• Experience in ERP and modern IT systems in purchase-to-pay process would be an advantage
