Giant Leap Trainee, Test Engineer

Are you ready to take a Giant Leap? We’re looking for a Test Engineer Intern for our Giant Leap program – a project-based internship in our HQ in Vantaa. In the project: Wafer Tester Temperature Studies your responsibility is to further develop existing production testing systems for humidity and temperature sensors at Vaisala’s sensor factory. As a Giant Leaper, you will get your own project to lead for three months, starting in June.

What will your summer look like?

In this role, you will take on a project to improve the performance of Vaisala’s production test system. Your work will include using a 3D modeling tool to model the current test system performance, identify areas for improvement, create a plan, and implement it.

The main focus of the project is to document the current temperature measurement capability of the testing system, identify and implement improvements, and develop and validate a prototype to ensure production quality. You will use a 3D modeling tool to analyze the system, pinpoint areas for improvement, and create and execute a plan. This work is essential for Vaisala, as the outcome directly impacts the quality of our sensors and, ultimately, the customer experience. You will work mainly on-site in Vantaa as part of the test system development team, collaborating closely with the team lead and lead test engineer. During the summer, you’ll gain hands-on experience in thermodynamics, heat transfer, gas flow analysis, 3D modeling, prototyping, and project work.
