Giant Leap Trainee, Product Data Analysis

Are you ready to take a Giant Leap? We’re looking for a Product Data Analyst trainee for our Giant Leap program – a project-based internship in our HQ in Vantaa. We want to improve our sales forecasting by incorporating external economical data into our predictions. Your task will be to find reliable external data sources that improve the forecast and optimize the prediction algorithm.  As a Giant Leaper, you will get your own project to lead for three months, starting in June.

What will your summer look like?

• You will familiarize yourself with current prediction models and internal data sources (SAP Analytics cloud, Salesforce)
• You will screen available external data economical and financial data sources to find such that improve our sales forecasting.
• Improved sales forecasting will allow us to apply resources in sales and R&D for best effect, and improve our understanding of what actually drives growth in our business.
• You will be based in our Industrial Instruments Business line team together with 16 other Product management and Business development professionals.
• You will learn to work with real-world data – sometimes of varying quality to achieve reliable results.
• The location will be in our Vantaa office, but due to the nature of the work, some remote working is also possible.

What kind of skillset are we looking for?

• We are looking for someone with good skills in Data Analytics and at least a keen interest in Business development.
• Advanced skills in Excel and proficiency in some other suitable tools for data analytics (Python, R, …) will be needed.
• But above all we want to see a curious mind combined with a persistence to achieve results.
