Giant Leap Trainee, Market Analyst

Are you ready to take a Giant Leap? We’re looking for a Market Analyst Intern for our Giant Leap program – a project-based internship in our HQ in Vantaa. This project: Market study on atmospheric methane flux solutions focuses on analyzing the market potential for atmospheric methane flux over the next 3-10 years in target markets like the EU, North America, and China. You’ll identify the most promising ecosystems and customer needs and deliver a clear analysis that will guide Vaisala’s strategy in this emerging market. As a Giant Leaper, you will get your own project to lead for three months, starting in June 2026.

Giant Leap is a unique opportunity for you to be the project manager of your own project, with the support of your teammates and project supervisor. What will your summer look like?

• The main focus of the project is to gather information about existing methane flux market and its growth trends.
• The expected results: A visualized and quantified analysis (presentation) of most attractive countries, which ecosystems to address, what customer needs should be met and most typical use cases. A proposal of how to proceed at Vaisala after talking with company internal experts.
• It is essential to Vaisala as we have a compelling carbon flux station due to recent acquisition. Our ecosystem monitoring customers have expressed interest towards methane flux, but we are not familiar with the market potential, customer needs, and expected pricing.
• You would work in a team of 4 Finnish professional members and be instructed and supervised by our Head of Business. Our team was established only a year ago with a growth mission, so we work closely together with many other people at Vaisala. You will also get business insights from our experienced carbon flux team, mainly located in UK.

The work will primarily take place on-site at Vaisala’s headquarters in Vantaa (Finland). Hybrid work is possible but on-site visits on 2-3 days a week are mandatory.

What kind of skillset are we looking for?

• Requirements for field/level of education: 4th year in Industrial Engineering and Management University.
• Special skills: Fluent English, French and/or German is of help as well as other languages.
• Work personality: Outgoing, motivated, structured, willingness and skills to work independently after 1-month guidance.
