Giant Leap Trainee, Customer 360 Analytics

Are you ready to take a Giant Leap? We’re looking for a Customer 360 & AI Service Upselling Intern for our Giant Leap program, a project-based internship at our HQ in Vantaa. The goal is to design and prototype a Customer 360 dashboard that brings together key customer data and uses analytics and AI to identify service upsell opportunities and support sales in account planning and management, as part of the Customer 360 dashboard to drive account management and AI-powered service upselling project. As a Giant Leaper, you will lead your own project for three months, starting in mid-May.

What will your summer look like? 

You will lead a three-month project to design and prototype a Customer 360 dashboard that combines key customer data into actionable views for sales and service, supporting data-driven account management and service upsell opportunities. The project is strategically important for Vaisala’s Commercial Excellence, strengthening data-driven account management and laying the foundation for future AI-driven capabilities such as recommendations and churn prediction.

 

Over the summer, you will learn how Customer 360 and commercial capabilities are built in practice, enhance your data and visualization skills, gain experience in framing AI opportunities, and develop your project management and presentation skills. By the end of the summer, you are expected to deliver a working prototype or a detailed near-final mock-up of the dashboard, initial versions of upsell/opportunity detection logic, and clear documentation with a handover plan.

 

You will collaborate closely with colleagues from Sales, Service, Marketing, Data & Analytics, and IT, supported by a dedicated supervisor and experts on data, tools, and AI topics, in a low-hierarchy and collaborative team culture. The role is based at Vaisala HQ in Vantaa.

 

What kind of skillset are we looking for? 

We are looking for a student who is actively pursuing a university or university of applied sciences degree in a relevant field, such as: 

  • Industrial Engineering and Management 
  • Information Systems / Business Information Technology 
  • Data Science / Analytics 
  • Economics (with a strong interest in data, CRM or sales/service development) 

 

We don’t expect you to be an expert yet, but the following will help you succeed: 

  • Basic skills in data analysis and visualization (for example using Power BI, or similar tools) 
  • Some familiarity with databases, SQL or data modelling concepts 
  • Interest in CRM, account management or sales & service processes; experience with tools like Salesforce is an advantage but not mandatory 
  • Curiosity about AI and analytics, and willingness to explore how they can support sales and service use cases 
  • Ability to structure information and communicate findings clearly in English, both in writing and in presentations

  • Are curious, proactive and not afraid to ask questions or challenge the status quo 
  • Enjoy turning problems into structured solutions 
  • Can listen to different stakeholders (sales, service, data, IT) and translate their needs into concrete requirements 
  • Are comfortable working independently, but also enjoy bouncing ideas with others and iterating based on feedback
