Why join us?
-
Build your career in an international, collaborative environment. You will work with experienced colleagues and use modern tools in your daily work.
-
Opportunity to grow as an expert. This role offers an excellent chance to dive into group-level financial reporting and deepen your understanding of how group financials are compiled.
-
Leading performance, not location. Our culture is trust-based. We treasure face-to-face collaboration with our colleagues, but hybrid work and flexibility are the new norm for us.
What's your role?
As a Financial Controller, you will be part of our Consolidation and Group Reporting team. In this role, you will be responsible for defined tasks related to the monthly consolidation and closing process, while also supporting the preparation of quarterly interim reports and annual IFRS financial statements.
You will contribute to the adoption of new IFRS standards and the implementation of updated accounting policies. Working in a small but highly experienced team, you will have an excellent opportunity to learn, grow, and take part in impactful Group-level initiatives —including the automation of financial statement reporting. You will report to the Head of Consolidation and Group Reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Execute defined tasks in the monthly consolidation process and support the preparation of Group financial reports.
-
Contribute to the preparation of quarterly interim reports and Vaisala’s IFRS Consolidated financial statements, including ESEF-compliant reporting.
-
Perform internal controls within your area of responsibility to ensure accuracy and compliance.
-
Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of Vaisala’s accounting policies, including the adoption of new IFRS standards.
-
Act as the finance point of contact for sustainability reporting and other Group-level financial information requests.
-
Participate in ongoing development projects that enhance the consolidation process.
-
Support M&A-related activities within the consolidation team.
-
Collaborate effectively with auditors, system consultants, and other key stakeholders.
What will you bring?
-
2+ years of experience in external accounting — preferably in consolidation — gained in a listed company or an auditing firm.
-
Hands-on experience in preparing consolidated IFRS financial statements, along with familiarity with ESEF reporting requirements.
-
Proven experience applying or implementing IFRS standards across different business contexts.
-
Experience in accounting and consolidation systems, preferably SAP-based solutions.
-
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret and resolve complex financial issues.
-
Ability to assess and apply materiality effectively in day‑to‑day work.
-
Fluency in both written and spoken English and Finnish.
-
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
