FPGA Verification Trainee

We are looking for a Trainee, FPGA verification to join our Products and Technologies R&D team at Vaisala headquarters in Vantaa, Finland.

What will your summer look like?
You’ll be part of an innovative FPGA verification team working on real-world projects that impact Vaisala’s cutting-edge hardware solutions. Expect a mix of coding, simulation, and collaboration in a dynamic environment.
What would the trainee do in practice?

Develop Python-based functional test benches for FPGA IP blocks and top-level designs.

Contributions to improving the team’s verification infrastructure.

R&D projects developing state-of-the-art Weather Measurement Instruments, as a member of a small, highly skilled hardware and verification team.

Working in close collaboration with FPGA designers, system architects, test engineers and software developers.

Hybrid model possible (some tasks can be done remotely, but lab access may require on-site presence).
What will you bring?
Requirements for field/level of education
-
Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field.

Coursework or projects involving digital electronics, FPGA design, or embedded systems is a strong plus.
Special skills

Linux command-line proficiency.

Python programming skills, experience with scripting and automation.

Familiarity with Git for version control.

Basic understanding of digital logic, FPGA design flow, and verification methodologies.

Optional: Exposure to HDL and simulation tools
