Development Manager, Service Solutions

We are looking for a Development Manager, Service Solutions to join our commercial & strategy team in Life Cycle Services at Vaisala, headquarters in Vantaa, Finland. What's your role?

You will be part of our commercial & strategy team of nine professionals. Together with the team, you will have the opportunity to develop and manage innovative Service Agreement and Service Solution products, drive sustainable business growth, and enhance customer retention. Additionally, you will contribute to influencing internal processes and capability development in selling, managing, and delivering service solutions to meet business demands. In this role you will be working in close co-operation with Sales, Marketing, other product managers and service delivery function heads.   • Product Development: Full development and lifecycle management of Service Agreement and Service Solution products.
  • Business Growth: Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to promote products and achieve revenue targets.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify customer needs, market trends, and the competitive landscape. Use insights to inform product strategy and development.
  • Customer Focus: Work with customers to understand their needs and ensure products deliver value. Gather and analyze customer feedback to continuously improve products.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with service delivery, sales, marketing, and customer support teams to ensure successful product development and launch.
  • Development in R&D Projects: Participate in certain R&D projects for developing and productizing services along with new product launches.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): The effectiveness of the Development Manager Service Solutions will be evaluated based on the following metrics:

  • Service Solution Specific KPIs: Retention rate, attach rate, opportunity pipeline, number of new customers.
  • Development Activities: Effective product launches, process renewal.
  • Activity Metrics: Customer webinars and meetings, sales presentations, internal trainings.

  • Proficiency in tools and software used by Product Managers and Service Designers
  • Experience with software services, managed services, remote services, and integrated service solutions are highly valued
  • Industrial application knowledge in areas such as life science, semiconductors, battery manufacturing, and building management is considered an asset
  • Experience with the service contract agreement process and back-end delivery flow is advantageous
  • Relevant educational background: BSc. or higher
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time

Competitive Compensation:  € 61, 440 - € 92, 160 annually. Salary is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, internal equity, and alignment with industry standards and local market factors.
