Delivery Capability Project Manager

We are looking for a Delivery Capability Project Manager to join our Instrument Factory Delivery Capability team at Vaisala headquarters in Vantaa, Finland. Join us to shape how new products become manufacturable, scalable, and ready for high-quality production.

What's your role?

You will be part of our Delivery Capability team of skilled professionals. Together with the team, you will have an excellent opportunity to support the industrialization of new products and ensure that manufacturability is considered early enough in product development. In this role, you will work with close co-operation with R&D, production experts, operations, and other project stakeholders. The role is closely connected to production, and you will mainly work on-site at the factory. You will report to Senior Manager, Delivery Capability.

Your responsibilities include:

• Leading delivery capability implementation in product development projects
• Lead joint DFM/DFA effort to ensure that new products are designed for manufacturability
• Representing Operations and production needs in R&D projects
• Coordinating input from production experts during projects
• Securing the needed resources, competencies, and production readiness
• Collecting manufacturability feedback and turning it into project input
• Supporting a smooth handover from development to production

What will you bring?

• Strong project management skills, a certificate (e.g., IPMA-D or IPMA-C) is seen as a big plus
• Solid DFA/DFM skills and mindset
• Experience in a production environment and technology standards
• Proven leadership skills and ability and willingness to motivate and coach the project team
• Courage to tackle challenging situations, influence people, and make difficult decisions
• Understanding the effect of design on assembly, testing, and production automation
• Knowledge of LEAN & Product Inventory Cost
• Understanding or interest in smart factory technologies
• Excellent analytical problem-solving and process development skills
• Ability to share and develop ideas in a team with a continuous improvement mindset
• Strong communication skills in English
