What's your role?
You will be part of our Vaisala Sourcing organization. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining a high-quality level of Vaisala’s component data from an environmental and regulatory requirements perspective. You will work closely with Vaisala’s internal stakeholders as well as subcontractors and manufacturing partners on component-related topics. You will report to the Senior Manager, Business Area Sourcing.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring that components meet relevant environmental and regulatory requirements.
- Managing and updating component data in the Product Data Management (PDM) system.
- Ensuring compliance with standards and regulations such as RoHS, REACH, and TSCA, and maintaining high-quality item data.
- Approving new components and evaluating component maturity and life cycle.
What will you bring:
- Genuine interest in environmental topics and basic understanding of environmental legislation on restricted materials (e.g. RoHS, REACH, TSCA).
- Basic knowledge of chemistry, materials technology, electronics, mechanics or electromechanics.
- Bachelor’s degree or similar engineering or environmental sciences.
- Good networking and collaboration skills and, preferably, some prior experience in the environmental data field.
- Works in a persistent, precise, organized and co-operative manner.
- Fluent in English with strong verbal and written communication abilities.
