We are looking for a Communications Specialist to join our Corporate Communications team in headquarters in Vantaa, Finland. This is a hands-on role at the heart of how Vaisala tells its story, spanning owned channels, content production, social media, and communications projects. You will work closely with a small, senior team of communications professionals and contribute to work that has real visibility across the organization and beyond.

Vaisala is a global leader in measurement instruments and intelligence helping industries, nations, people, and the planet to thrive. Our team of close to 2,500 experts and 62 nationalities around the world is committed to taking every measure for the planet. Driven by our shared purpose, curiosity, and pioneering spirit, we stay ahead and make a difference. At Vaisala, you don't have to fit in to belong.

Why join us?

This role offers the opportunity to work in a truly global context. You will be part of a technology leader with a unique climate impact, helping societies, businesses and decision-makers act earlier, smarter and with confidence in the face of weather and environmental challenges. This role offers a chance to contribute where it truly matters.

You will work at the heart of corporate communications, gaining hands-on experience across a broad range of tasks, from content production and channel management to coordinating a high-visibility project like the Annual Report. This is an excellent next step if you want to take ownership of real deliverables from day one, develop your skills alongside experienced communications professionals, and grow your expertise in corporate communications at a truly global company.

What's your role?

In this position, you will support the Corporate Communications team in creating and maintaining communications that strengthen Vaisala's narrative and visibility across channels. You will work closely with experienced communications professionals and contribute to a range of projects and deliverables. You will report to the Head of Corporate Communications.

Your role will be to:

  • Coordinate the project management of Vaisala's Annual Report, working with timelines, stakeholders, content collection, and production from start to finish
  • Maintain and update Vaisala's owned communication channels, ensuring content is current, consistent, and aligned with the company narrative
  • Create content across formats, including presentations, intranet news, and project communications
  • Support social media content creation and community management at the company level
  • Participate in the planning and execution of virtual communication events such as town halls and info calls
  • Support other communicators in crafting effective communications for strategic initiatives and change management

What will you bring?

  • Background in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field, with experience in corporate communications or a similar environment
  • Proven experience in project coordination, ideally within communications, reporting, or other complex multi-stakeholder projects
  • Strong content creation skills with an eye for quality, consistency, and narrative
  • A hands-on approach and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Resilience and a positive, can-do attitude in a dynamic environment
  • Fluency in both Finnish and English is essential
  • You use AI tools as a natural part of how you work, and see the evolving role of AI in communications as an opportunity rather than a challenge.
