Communications Partner

Location:

We are looking for a Communications Partner to join our Communications and Brand team at Vaisala headquarters in Vantaa, Finland. This senior manager role primarily supports our Weather, Energy, and Environment business and is suited for an experienced communications professional who thrives in a strategic, high-impact partnership role.

Vaisala is a global leader in measurement instruments and intelligence helping industries, nations, people, and the planet to thrive. Our team of over 2,400 experts and 59 nationalities around the world is committed to taking every measure for the planet. Driven by our shared purpose, curiosity, and pioneering spirit, we stay ahead and make a difference. At Vaisala, you don’t have to fit in to belong.

Why join us?

This role offers the opportunity to work in a truly global context. You will be part of a technology leader with a unique climate impact, helping societies, businesses and decision-makers act earlier, smarter and with confidence in the face of weather and environmental challenges. If you are motivated by meaningful climate and societal impact, this role offers a chance to contribute where it truly matters.

You will have a clear mandate to challenge and coach business leaders, not just execute existing plans. This is an excellent next step for you if you want more strategic responsibility, collaboration with business leaders over the long term instead of moving from project to project, and deeper your expertise in leadership and change communication.

What's your role?

In this position, you will shape and execute communications that support business priorities and strengthen engagement across internal and external audiences. You will work closely with stakeholders across the organization, acting as a trusted senior advisor on communications, messaging and storytelling. You will report to the VP, Communications and Brand.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Develop and execute internal and external communications strategies aligned with business goals, and measure, optimize and report their impact.

  • Advise and coach senior stakeholders on messaging, storytelling and audience targeting, translating strategy into clear and compelling narratives.

  • Drive change communications in key strategic initiatives and lead business-level issue communications.

  • Build thought leadership in industry-relevant earned channels, and lead trade media relations to strengthen brand visibility.

  • Contribute to selected corporate-level communications projects in close collaboration with Communications and Brand colleagues.

What you’ll bring?

  • Strong business and strategic acumen, with the ability to connect communications work to business and people outcomes.

  • Relevant educational and work experience in the communications area, preferably in an international and/or technology context.

  • Proven experience in strategic messaging combined with hands-on communications execution across multiple channels.

  • Excellent project management skills and a target- and outcome-oriented way of working.

  • Ability to influence, collaborate, and build trust across business and functional teams.

  • Experience operating effectively in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment.

Excellent English skills are essential in this global role. Finnish and/or French skills are an advantage.
