Product Manager, Forecast

We are looking for a Product Manager to join us and work with the Vaisala Forecast products.

Here is your chance to take a front seat to be part of our Forecast team in developing world class and global forecasting solutions, that will bring timely and high-quality insights to enterprises, government offices and individuals around the globe to make informed and better decisions. We have three key service products at the moment: weather, road weather and air quality forecasts. Former knowledge in weather forecast, air quality systems or meteorology is not required which means that this is a great learning opportunity for you concerning these topics.

 

In this position, you will be planning, organizing, and controlling the Vaisala Forecast team products from conceptual stages through product life cycles to optimize profit and meet marketing, financial, and corporate growth objectives by performing the following duties. Role and responsibilities can be tailored according to candidates professional interests and level of experience.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Understands customer needs in the context of competitive offerings and points of differentiation to define and implement a portfolio level product roadmap with prioritized products. Performs qualitative and quantitative research with existing customers and potential prospects. Builds business cases around these products to ensure prioritization is based on a solid understanding of ROI.
  • Translates strategy and business needs into crisp, precise, functional requirements and user experience flows. Manages timelines, deliverables, and requirements, so projects launch on time and within the correct scope.
  • Partner with marketing to define user personas for individual products and write product requirements and use scenarios.
  • Defines and monitors metrics for the performance of products. Collects and monitors KPI's to track product performance. Drives continuous improvements to products based on performance.
  • Assist in the development of new business proposals.


WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU?

Strong leadership and product management skills are critical, as well as the following:

  • 4+ years’ experience in product management for B-to-B web-based products, ideally in an agile environment.
  • Possesses a strong analytical orientation. Demonstrated success identifying, defining, and realistically assessing new and strategic market opportunities.
  • Demonstrated success working in a fast-pace, start-up environment. Must be able to managing priorities and personalities in cross-functional team.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Entrepreneurial drive to develop new products, while managing client needs and timeframes to broker complex relationships that evolve into real solutions.
