Vaisala’s industry-leading weather observation technologies, instruments, and solutions lay the foundation for the Weather and Environment business area’s strategy, enabling our customers to improve their ability to measure and forecast weather and weather phenomena. The business area serves selected weather-dependent customers to whom accurate, real-time, uninterrupted, and reliable weather data is essential to run efficient operations.

 

We are looking for a Technical Support Specialist – Weather Systems on our CareTech team in our Louisville, Colorado office. This is a full-time onsite position.

 

The Technical Support Specialist – Weather Systems is responsible for delivering high-quality technical support to customers, ensuring superior service and fostering strong relationships. This role actively engages with customers to enhance their experience, anticipate their needs, and support commercial opportunities such as upselling and cross-selling. The role has a regional / global scope with operational impact.

 

What's Your Role?

 

Customer-Focused Technical Support
• Provide expert-level technical assistance to customers, ensuring timely solutions in line with SLAs and KPIs.
• Analyze, diagnose, and resolve technical issues related to Vaisala weather systems, escalating complex cases when necessary.
• Maintain detailed records of customer interactions to ensure proper tracking and case resolution.

 

Customer Relationship & Business Growth
• Act as the key liaison between Sales, Customer Success, and the customer to foster strong relationships.
• Develop a deep understanding of customer needs and provide proactive solutions.
• Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling and coordinate with Sales to drive growth.

 

Communication and Influencing
• Adapt and exchange information effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead customer-facing discussions, ensuring clarity and alignment on technical resolutions and service improvements.

 

Knowledge & Innovation
• Develop and maintain a strong understanding of Vaisala products and customer applications.
• Provide insights from customer interactions to inform product improvements and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with internal teams to refine customer support processes and enhance customer experience.

 

Complexity of tasks
• Difficult – Problems may be vaguely defined and require understanding across multiple job areas.

 

What Will You Bring?

• Strong customer engagement skills, with the ability to build rapport, trust, and long-term relationships.
• Advanced problem-solving, troubleshooting, and case management abilities.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Commercial awareness – ability to recognize business opportunities through customer interactions.
• Experience with technical support tools and CRM systems is desirable.
• Background or interest in weather, environmental measurement, or related technical fields is a plus.

 

ANTICIPATED SALARY RANGE: $70,000–$85,000 base salary with our annual performance bonus plan. Salary is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, we offer our employees a competitive benefits package, which is outlined below.
