We’re looking for a Content Marketing Meteorologist trainee for our summer internship program. The internship time frame is flexible, nominally running from May through August. 

 

Own your project! This Summer Trainee role is a project-based traineeship program, where you will be the project manager of your project, of course together with the team and with help of a project supervisor. The leadership teams select the projects included in the program, and they are solving real-life problems which are significant for us as a company.

 

Learn about the domain, problem solving, project management – and work life in general! In addition to working on the topic of your project together with our experts, you will have a chance to learn, for example, about project management and presentation skills both in theory and in practice. You’ll get to participate in training sessions during the summer together with other Giant Leapers.

 

Spend your summer with bright minds in a supportive environment! You will have a great chance to build connections not only with experts in your field while working on your project but also network with other summer trainees in informal sessions during the summer as well as meet and greet our leaders. By the way, many of our leaders are former interns themselves!

 

What will your summer look like?

  • Follow the weather on a daily basis using cutting edge weather software and technology.
  • Develop written content and graphics to tell the story of what’s happening in weather.
  • Contribute your content to Vaisala Xweather’s social media channels and on our website.
  • Explore unique datasets and generative AI technologies as novel sources of weather information. 
  • Work directly with Xweather’s Head of Innovation and Marketing leads to develop content about engaging and innovative topics.
  • This position can be hybrid or onsite in our Louisville, CO or Minneapolis, MN office.

 

What kind of skillset are we looking for?

  • We are looking for junior, senior level students, or recent graduates (B.S. or M.S.) of a Meteorology or Atmospheric Science program.
  • The ideal candidate is passionate about the weather, routinely follows what’s happening around the U.S., and wants to explore job experiences in Marketing.
  • Excellent communication skills are a must, with the ideal candidate being able to demonstrate examples of writing and/or speaking about weather.
  • We are looking for self starters who like to get things done. 
  • Time management, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
