The business area serves selected weather-dependent customers to whom accurate, real-time, uninterrupted, and reliable weather data is essential to run efficient operations.
Missions
As part of the development of our solar energy activities in the North American Region, Vaisala Inc is recruiting a "North America Solar Sales Manager " to strengthen the Renewable Regional Sales team based in US. This role has expectations of travel 40% of the time to customer sites in the US.
In this role, you will be responsible for initiating new profitable revenue stream to reach targets for Vaisala's North America Energy business. This position includes key accounts responsibility to proactively seek new business potential, develop customer relations and negotiating and closing deals.
Your portfolio will include Vaisala weather sensors, weather systems (such as Vaisala AWS810 Solar Edition which embeds our latest data management unit), and combined analystics and digital solutions where Vaisala employs robust modeling techniques and AI to achieve superior quality of the data captured in our Renewable Energy solution tools.
Your significant missions will consist of:
- Represent Vaisala, internally and externally, and take direct accountability for sales actions and customer relations in your geographical area.
- Define and implement sales strategy for key customer accounts in accordance with company and business area priority targets.
- Coordinate with the North America sales team and solar energy market manager to define and implement a tactical sales action plan to achieve your sales goals.
- Identify and develop new sales opportunities, sales channels and/or partnerships,
- Lead the preparation of commercial, financial and technical offers.
- Implement the validation process of commercial offers before final presentation to the customer.
- Lead the commercial negotiation for the best interests of the company on the contractual commitments.
- Ensure the follow-up of opportunities and Leads, and update Salesforce.
- Participate in events and trade shows.
- Share business information with internal stakeholders (customer feedback and market trends, competitions, product & service evolution, pricing strategy...).
- Monthly reporting on your order intake forecast, opportunity pipeline and delivery requirement.
Profile
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business, technical or other relevant discipline
- Demonstrated success as Sales Manager, with more than 5-year experience in the solar industry.
Knowledge and technical skills:
- Good knowledge of trade practices, contractual issues, financing instruments, etc.
- Technical sales background and commercial skills (portfolio management, key account management, negotiation...)
- Experience with CRM tools like SalesForce
Interpersonal skills:
- A good listener and have excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated, determined, and well-organized team player with a positive attitude towards customer service.
- Ability to analyze the needs and the technical requirements of customers, and develop new relationship.
