The business area serves selected weather-dependent customers to whom accurate, real-time, uninterrupted, and reliable weather data is essential to run efficient operations.

 

Position Description:

We are currently searching for a Project Manager in our Louisville (Boulder), Colorado office to join our Projects and Customer Services Team (PCS).  The purpose of this role is to manage the activities related to Vaisala delivery projects, delivering systems and solutions to Vaisala’s customers, based on Vaisala core product portfolio consisting of hardware software and services. This position is a hybrid role with work being performed both at the office and remotely.

 

 

Our Team:
The PCS Projects Team is a small group of Project Managers dedicated to delivering a wide variety of complex projects to Vaisala customers worldwide. At Vaisala, the Project Manager assumes a critical role as the customer’s main point of contact throughout the project delivery. Vaisala project managers interact with key Vaisala stakeholders throughout the project process to deliver cutting edge solutions to our customers.

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Be on the front line representing an organization that is respected around the world as the leader in technology-based solutions in the weather and environmental measurement industries.
  • Join a team of project managers collaborating to deliver a wide-ranging portfolio of projects.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders for high-profile delivery projects.
  • Interact with engineers and software developers to deliver customer-specific solutions.
  • Work with customers in rapidly changing industries like renewable energy, meteorological forecasting, aviation and air quality.
  • Develop relationships with co-workers and customers across Europe, Latin America and Asia.

 


We’re looking for people who have:

  • Bachelor's Degree: preference is B.S. Degree in Project Management, Business or Engineering
  • 3-5 years Project Management Experience
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • PMP Certification or specific Project Management training preferred
  • Communication and interpersonal skills: demonstrated ability to collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to accurately identify project requirements, risks and resolve potential issues.
  • Management skills: ability to complete projects within defined timelines. Experience directing and coordinating internal personnel and subcontractors. Capable of managing multiple types of projects in different project phases simultaneously. 
  • Financial skills: experience managing project financials including cost estimation, revenue forecasting revenue recognition and invoicing.
  • Technical skills: ability to understand and effectively communicate with customers and internal stakeholders about technological products, requirements, and deliverables. 
  • Experience with ERP Systems preferred, ideally experience with SAP.
  • Consultation Skills: ability to consult with sales teams on project opportunities by providing cost estimations, recommended delivery strategies and guidance based upon previous project lessons learned.

ANTICIPATED SALARY RANGE: $85,000-95,000 (hourly range or annual range). (Salary is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data).  Additionally, we offer our employees a competitive benefits package which is outlined below.
