Vaisala’s industry-leading weather observation technologies, instruments, and solutions lay the foundation for the Weather and Environment business area’s strategy, enabling our customers to improve their ability to measure and forecast weather and weather phenomena. The business area serves selected weather-dependent customers to whom accurate, real-time, uninterrupted, and reliable weather data is essential to run efficient operations.

Position Description:
We are currently searching for Program Manager in our Louisville (Boulder), Colorado office.  This person will manage a multi-year, ongoing program providing mission-critical Runway Visual Range (RVR) systems to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Overall accountability for program performance, customer satisfaction, growth, and profitability.
  • Building solid customer relationships and demanding the highest level of customer relationship management.
  • Coordinating internal and external resources and activities to achieve program goals.
  • Monitoring all aspects of the program to ensure timely delivery of goods, documentation, and services.
  • Coordination of all hardware, software, legal, ethical, financial, logistics, and service activities utilizing internal and external resources.


  • Bachelor’s Degree and 10 or more years of related experience. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Master’s Degree desired.
  • Successful track record with 10+ years of experience managing large Government programs.
  • Project/Program Management Certification (desired).
  • As a full-spectrum leader a key contribution area will require proven team leadership skills that facilitate cooperation to achieve program objectives and drive accomplishments.
  • Technical expertise in planning, execution and leadership of complex projects / programs including:
    • Earned Value Management Systems
    • Work Breakdown Structure Management
    • Task management and tracking
    • Strong Strategy Execution
  • Motivator and Influencer with superior customer and cross-functional communication expertise.
  • Proven ability to develop and foster strong customer & partner relationships internally and externally.
  • Superior team leadership skills.
  • Project financial management, negotiation and subcontractor management experience is crucial.
  • Global oriented, diverse experience with a multi-national employer.

ANTICIPATED SALARY RANGE: $100,000 - $110,000 (annual salary). (Salary is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data).  Additionally, we offer our employees a competitive benefits package which is outlined below.
