Technical Support Specialist

The business area serves selected weather-dependent customers to whom accurate, real-time, uninterrupted, and reliable weather data is essential to run efficient operations.

Position Description:
We are currently searching for a Technical Support Specialist in our Louisville, Colorado.  The primary role of the Technical Support Specialist is to undertake duties associated with Vaisala's Care Process aiming for resolving customers’ technical support requests. The successful candidate for this role will be vaccinated against COVID-19.



Your key responsibilities include:

  • Providing 2nd line technical support to customers as part of Care process.
  • Support of Vaisala Lightning Systems
  • Support of Vaisala Falls Servers
  • Supporting frontline teams and stepping into role if required.
  • Ownership and resolution of service requests and tasks.
  • Maintenance of Knowledge database.
  • Customer and internal training.
  • The work responsibilities require regular communication both internally in Vaisala and with customers. Extensive customer facing telephone and email communication methods are employed.



  • Bachelor’s Degree or similar and at least 3 years of experience. 
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent customer relationship management skills.
  • Documentation skills.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent oral and written English language skills.
  • Vaisala product systems (utilizing support materials as necessary).
  • Ability to support several products from more than one product family, with specialism within focused area.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Some level of knowledge or skill associated in any of the following disciplines:  electronics, mechanics, telecommunications, computer networking, environmental or climatological disciplines, and/ or dedicated customer service delivery.

ANTICIPATED SALARY RANGE: $31-35 per hour. (Salary is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data).  Additionally, we offer our employees a competitive benefits package which is outlined below.
