Technical Inside Sales Representative

Industrial Measurements business area serves a wide range of industries and applications ranging from pharmaceutical to food industries, and from warehouses to power transformers. It offers a broad range of accurate and reliable measurement instruments based on the cutting-edge technology to help our customers optimize their processes, improve efficiency, minimize energy consumption, and ensure the high quality of their end-products. 

 

Position Description:
We are currently searching for a Technical Inside Sales Representative in our Woburn, Massachusetts office to join our North America Industrial Instruments Sales team.  This position is a hybrid role and will have work days in office and remotely.

 

 

Our Team:
This inside sales team is the first point of contact for many customers and resale partners, giving you the opportunity to make a positive impact on the future success and growth of the region. 

In this role, you’ll manage and support sales activity for non-key accounts in North America. This includes pre-sales technical support, quoting, opportunity management, and ecommerce support. This position provides a great chance to learn about Vaisala’s products, customer base and related industries with future advancement opportunities.

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Conduct sales of our industrial instruments, monitoring systems and related services
  • Assist customers by providing suitable solutions for a wide range of applications 
  • Qualify, quote, and follow up on sales opportunities
  • Promote after-sales services to customers
  • Provide product and application support via live video meetings, phone, email, and chat
  • Manage demo equipment stock
  • Manage pricing guides
  • Webinar support
  • Input customer data and daily activity utilizing CRM tools
  • Prospecting through outbound targeted campaigns
  • Travel as needed with outside sales team to support presentations, trade show activities, and customer needs
  • Other tasks as assigned

 


We’re looking for people who have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related technical field.
  • 2 or more years of experience in a customer service or technical sales role
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong time management and organization skills, ability to prioritize tasks 
  • Ability to manage fast-paced workflow and multiple projects
  • Reliable and acts with a sense of urgency, work in a collaborative team environment
  • Customer focus with the ability to communicate service features and benefits
  • Ability to learn market, product, and application knowledge
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation
  • Act with integrity, aligned with Vaisala values
  • Competency with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools such as Salesforce  
  • Ability to fluently communicate in English
