Software Test Engineer

Industrial Measurements business area serves a wide range of industries and applications ranging from pharmaceutical to food industries, and from warehouses to power transformers. It offers a broad range of accurate and reliable measurement instruments based on the cutting-edge technology to help our customers optimize their processes, improve efficiency, minimize energy consumption, and ensure the high quality of their end-products. 

Position Description:
We are currently searching for a Software Test Engineer in our Woburn, Massachusetts office.  In this role, you will be working in tester development environment in Vaisala´s Life Cycle Services unit. Your role includes setting up and developing new test platforms as well as making test scripts using C# and XML to existing testing platforms. You will also document the test activities, do validation to new test setups and support service centers globally by maintaining and solving tester related issues.  


The successful candidate for this role will be vaccinated against COVID-19.

 


Your key responsibilities include:

  • Building a service tester as part of a tester development team.
  • Validation and documentation of the tester
  • Support service centers in their daily work regarding tester related issues
  • Collaborates with other test engineers, test laboratory engineers, R&D 
  • Evaluates product requirements against existing platforms
  • Plans, implements, and reports calibration/testing of platform, application or system product
  • Responsibility for Test Station maintenance Activities
  • Develops testing, tools, and processes in Vaisala

 


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2-3 years of related Software Test experience.  Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Very good knowledge of testing methods and processes 
  • Some experience in programming (preferably C# and XML)
  • Previous work experience in building test setups as well as a basic understanding of various measurement technologies or product development is seen as an advantage.
  • Tech-savvy - you are a hands-on personality with a genuine interest in technology and technical products
  • Team player and you enjoy working with others as a team
  • Proactive and self-imposed but not afraid to ask for help if needed
  • Experience in one or more following areas:
    • Test tools
    • Test automation
    • Programming language (e.g., C++, Java, Python)
    • Performance, security testing
