Marketing Manager, Industrial Measurements

Industrial Measurements business area serves a wide range of industries and applications ranging from pharmaceutical to food industries, and from warehouses to power transformers. It offers a broad range of accurate and reliable measurement instruments based on the cutting-edge technology to help our customers optimize their processes, improve efficiency, minimize energy consumption, and ensure the high quality of their end-products. 

Position Description:
Vaisala is searching for an experienced, technically oriented Marketing Manager to partner closely with Product, Sales, and Corporate Marketing teams to drive messaging and positioning for our Industrial Measurements and Liquid Measurements product lines. This technical marketing role is crucial to our goal to build and support strategic and innovative marketing programs in North America while enabling wide distributor network, sales, and services teams with world-class tools and messaging to articulate the value of Vaisala’s offerings.


This position is located in our Woburn (Boston), Massachusetts office and reports to our Head of Marketing, Industrial Measurements, Americas.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Messaging and Positioning: Develop messaging and positioning campaigns for industry-specific and sub-segment applications to position Vaisala as THE Industrial Measurements company for the Americas.
  • Putting content marketing strategy into practice
  • Translate customer value into customer stories: Our wide customer base is our best evidence of product leadership. You interview our customers and create case studies, case webinars, and other content to support the sales and marketing activities. 
  • Demand Generation: Partner with Sales teams, global Solutions Marketing, and Product teams to devise campaign strategy and themes, create compelling content, and guide digital marketing programs to drive demand for the Industrial Measurements offerings digitally across all channels
  • Sales Enablement: Equip and train the sales team on Vaisala’s value proposition by leveraging world-class sales tools, competitive and market intelligence to overcome critical objections and support every stage of the selling process.
  • Distributor Enablement: Co-operate with our distributor network to understand end-customer needs and requirements and to educate the sales teams to achieve their targets.
  • Client Retention and Growth (ABM Marketing): Partner with our Sales and Services teams to develop high-quality messaging, content, and campaigns to drive client retention efforts including services marketing.
  • Thought Leadership: Demonstrate clear and compelling points of view including unique approaches to solving problems with strategic insights and actionable advice for our clients.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field (MBA preferred) and 3-5 years of experience.  Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in enterprise B2B in core product marketing roles, or a combination of experience in product marketing, product, and sales roles, particularly solution-driven consulting with focus on manufacturing or similar areas. 
  • Experience developing Go-to-Market strategies (solution and services definition, packaging, pricing, and positioning) for diverse and segmented product lines. Experience in Industrial applications is preferred. Experience translating complex technical topics into simplified campaigns for diverse technical and non-technical audiences. 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills - Ability to represent marketing plans and strategic priorities to senior executives, sales, customers, top prospects, analysts, and press. Ability to write exceptionally well, conceptualize, and even create compelling visuals. Experience and comfortable with speaking in front of various audience sizes in extemporaneous and planned settings is a must.
  • Excellent relationship building skills - Ability to work across the entire organization with senior leaders to build consensus on product marketing priorities is a must. Must be able to develop and sustain relationships with key influencers, customers, top prospects, and analysts.
  • Build and execute campaigns from the bottom up (identify goals, risks, audience, messages, and tactics).  
  • Experience defining and delivering technical product marketing deliverables including product and solution demos, videos, presentations, blogs, webinars, competitive analyses, ROI analyses, technical whitepapers, thought leadership content, and enablement material.
  • Responsible for content that drives MQLs
  • An eagerness to jump in and adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic, team environment
  • Fluent in Salesforce, Eloqua or similar tools, Google Analytics 
  • You are an experienced social media advocate and/or can motivate and coach others to become one
