Head of Marketing

Industrial Measurements business area serves a wide range of industries and applications ranging from pharmaceutical to food industries, and from warehouses to power transformers. It offers a broad range of accurate and reliable measurement instruments based on the cutting-edge technology to help our customers optimize their processes, improve efficiency, minimize energy consumption, and ensure the high quality of their end-products. 

Position Description:

We are searching for a Head of Marketing for the Americas to manage the development of our regional marketing strategy and execution plan, to support company growth objectives for Vaisala’s Industrial Measurement’s business.  In this position, you will lead a team of professionals to drive growth through innovative marketing strategies and tactics with an immediate focus on increasing awareness and generating demand. The position is located in our Woburn (Boston), Massachusetts office.

 

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the development and execution of the regional marketing and communications strategy
  • Overall responsibility for all marketing campaigns, execution and product launches regionally 
  • Work closely with sales teams and product managers to ensure marketing contributes to regional business objectives
  • Lead a team of marketing professionals
  • Analyze data and marketing KPIs to ensure the performance is optimized
  • Maintain a deep understanding of your target market and key personas and translate that to marketing content for relevant platforms
  • Key member of the management group for the Americas Industrial Measurements business
  • Key contributor to distributor channel marketing and distributor relationship building
  • Articulate technical content into meaningful customer messaging and adapt content to different target customers
  • Execute tactics through traditional and digital channels including: web, email, social, trade show, telemarketing, webinar, and publications
  • Communications strategist and experience in media relations

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or other relevant field, MBA preferred 
  • 10 years’ relevant experience with proven achievement and success in marketing roles in B2B environment
  • Experienced B2B storyteller: understanding what makes a great copy writing in different platforms, and the ability to create a story through messaging that follows a complete buyer’s journey
  • Ability to develop a modern content and event strategy, including videos, webinars, webcasts, and more
  • Know how to manage segmentation and multiple target audiences
  • Working knowledge of digital tactics/platforms such as email, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and marketing automation
  • Experience with Salesforce, Eloqua and Google Analytics or similar tools
  • Experience developing and managing online marketing events
  • Proven success at marketing high value, solution-based platforms 
  • Understanding of multi-language campaign execution
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple sub-business units marketing programs
  • Disciplined and structured to manage and execute, balanced with creative and articulate to lead and inspire
  • Confident in your skills and experience to suggest creative new approaches, yet humble enough to listen and learn from seasoned experienced in-house peers
  • Strong English skills required, Spanish and Portuguese a bonus, but not required.
  • Competitive spirit that wants to win while enjoying the journey.
     

Experience:

  • Proven ability to build and develop high performance multi-country marketing team, combining content and digital marketing
  • Deep understanding of modern sales & marketing funnel management
  • Proven ability to understand analytics and data-based decision making to improve performance
  • Ability to translate complex customer and sales requirements into marketing strategy and plans
  • Ability to get wide commitment to execution
  • Experience and proven success launching new solutions in a high-tech B2B environment with multiple customer level decision makers, gatekeepers, and influencers
  • Proven experience and expertise in developing integrated marketing campaigns and execution through multiple channels and tactics
  • Understand the role of ecommerce, social media and digital sales
  • Team player and ability to liaise with multiple cross functions, driving alignment
  • Results orientation with a bias for action
  • Comfortable in a large organization with a matrix structure
  • High energy with a passion for continuous improvement
