The Field Service Project Delivery Manager role is a leadership role within the Life Cycle Services (LSE) team accountable for driving the strategy, performance, and growth of Vaisala’s Industrial Measurements project and system services business across the Americas. This role owns the execution of the project management and field services operations to ensure the profitable project and system business for Vaisala’s Industrial Measurement’s offerings with the high customer satisfaction and industry-leading customer experience. This is a hybrid role in our Burlington, Massachusetts office.

 

As a key member of the regional project and system business, this individual acts as a partner to Sales and our Business Lines to shape and execute regional go-to-market business strategy and deliver high-quality services and create stronger customer relationships. This role balances short-term operational delivery with long-term capability building ensuring Vaisala is positioned to scale service in alignment with ambitions.Shape 

 

What is my role?

 

Strategic Ownership & Business Alignment 

  • Own and execute the services operations for project and system delivery services in the AMER region. 
  • Align service operations with the region’s commercial targets and customer requirements to deliver world-class customer experience and satisfaction. 
  • Represent AMER in global service forums, ensuring the region’s voice is reflected in global standards, tools, and priorities for project and system delivery. 
  • Champion service innovation through market intelligence, customer feedback, and competitive benchmarking. 

 

Service Delivery & Operational Excellence 

  • Ensure high-quality execution of project management, system delivery (mapping, installation, validation etc.) services both remotely and on site. 
  • In Latin America, manage resources for the on-site calibration and technical support delivery. 
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to increase service quality, speed, and efficiency across all delivery channels. 
  • Monitor and act on performance metrics such as on-time delivery, utilization, and customer satisfaction. 
  • Optimize resource planning, capacity utilization, and process effectiveness to support profitable growth. 

 

Leadership & Capability Building 

  • Manage the team with a clear sense of purpose and accountability. 
  • Build a scalable service team through talent development, succession planning, and effective team structures. 
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration. 
  • Ensure the development of key competencies and technical expertise within the team. 

 

Financial & Performance Accountability 

  • Own the regional project and system services P&L, with accountability for service cost management, profitability, and margin improvement. 
  • Track, report, and improve upon key financial and operational indicators to ensure business sustainability and value contribution. 
  • Identify and implement cost-saving and productivity initiatives without compromising quality or customer experience.

What will you bring?

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field (Master’s degree or MBA preferred). 
  • 7+ years of experience in a technical services leadership role, ideally within a project delivery organization in a global industrial or high-tech environment. 
  • Proven track record of managing regional teams and service operations with P&L responsibility. 
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and experience navigating complex matrix organizations. 
  • Willingness to travel across the AMER region (~25%).

 

 

 

ANTICIPATED SALARY RANGE: $100,000-$125,000 annually with a performance bonus plan. Salary is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
