Events Management Marketing Manager

Industrial Measurements business area serves a wide range of industries and applications ranging from pharmaceutical to food industries, and from warehouses to power transformers. It offers a broad range of accurate and reliable measurement instruments based on the cutting-edge technology to help our customers optimize their processes, improve efficiency, minimize energy consumption, and ensure the high quality of their end-products. 


Position Description:
We are currently searching for an experienced and highly motivated Events Marketing Manager to lead our tradeshow and events strategy in North America and support our webinar efforts across the Americas. You will partner closely with our marketing and sales teams to ensure successful events that convey messaging and positioning for Vaisala’s Industrial Measurement (VIM) solutions at in-person and online events/webinars. In this role, you will enhance our brand visibility and foster customer relationships, while supporting and aligning with our strategic marketing programs in the Americas. This position is a hybrid role and is in our Woburn, Massachusetts office.

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Manage strategy and execution of end-to-end event processes, including vendor management, pre and post event activities procurement, budget tracking and expense reporting 
  • Tradeshow booth supervision that could include: 
    • Pre-trip: vendor management, staffing and hotel reservations
    • Onsite: supervise install and dismantle of the booth, booth supervision, traffic building activities, lead acquisition, shipping of assets, etc.
    • Post-show: breakdown booth, return rented equipment, ensure all assets are returned to the office, conduct post-show interviews with sales and marketing to determine viability of attending in the future and ROI
  • Work with marketing managers to promote events to drive engagement and traffic (through communications, sponsorships, digital marketing campaigns, etc.)
  • Coordinate and support webinar programs and other online events. Create and edit webinar and landing pages for NAM and LATAM.
  • Research and secure new industry events and speaking opportunities   for Vaisala subject matter experts
  • Proactively identify marketing KPIs, metrics and lead generation opportunities, report and provide feedback to stakeholders
  • Create and manage event asset library (booth displays, pop-up banners, crates, instruments for demos)
  • Some travel required (up to 30%), for trades shows, meetings or conferences 



We’re looking for people who have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field and 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Experience developing event strategies that align with overall sales and marketing goals and ability to sell your vision to stakeholders 
  • Proven ability to manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts and adhere to budgets
  • Proficient with webinar platforms, marketing automation, CRMs, and other digital marketing tools (we use ON24, Eloqua, Salesforce, Drupal, Jira)
  • Excellent communication, time management and organizational skills especially when it comes to details and logistics 
  • Strong relationship building skills 
  • You are an experienced social media user and advocate
  • An eagerness to jump in and adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic, team environment
  • Strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity, and commitment to continuous improvement
