Business Development Manager, Semiconductor Industry

We are seeking a Business Development Manager with deep expertise in the semiconductor industry to join our North American Industrial Instruments sales team to drive growth and expand our market presence by identifying and securing new business opportunities. In this role, you will leverage your industry knowledge and contacts to position our advanced measurement instruments—such as humidity, temperature, dew point, and pressure sensors—as mission-critical tools for semiconductor fabs, OEMs, and equipment suppliers.
This role is a full-time role, reporting to the Head of Industrial Instruments Sales for North America. Hybrid work or remote is negotiable, preferably in an industry hub. The team is mostly located in Burlington, MA.
What's your role?
Strategic Planning and Market Analysis:
- Develop and execute sales strategies to expand our client base and achieve company revenue targets in the semiconductor cleanrooms and semiconductor equipment manufacturing sector.
- Conduct thorough market research to identify potential clients, industry trends, and competitive landscape within the semiconductor industry supply chain.
- Monitor and report on sales metrics, pipeline status, and business development activities.
- Analyze and assess the effectiveness of business development strategies and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
Client Acquisition:
- Identify, target, and acquire new clients within the semiconductor industry that require advanced measurement technology solutions.
- Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within target organizations.
- Lead and manage the entire sales cycle, from initial contact to sales negotiations and closure, working together with the Industrial Instruments sales team to develop global customers.
- Cooperation with R&D teams of semiconductor equipment manufacturers for OEM testing and validation.
Networking and Relationship Building:
- Attend industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to promote our products and services and establish industry connections. Prepare and deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and product and technology demonstrations to prospective clients.
- Develop and nurture long-term relationships with clients to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with the global product management and development, regional marketing, and customer support teams to ensure alignment and support for business development activities like develop promotional materials, case studies, and other content.
- Work in tandem with the regional, industry focused, and inside sales teams to ensure execution of customer needs and solutions.
What will you bring?
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Material Physics, or related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).
Experience:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, with years of experience in business development and sales.
- Experience working on site or closely with contacts at fabs / foundries, OEMs, or capital equipment manufacturers related to the semiconductor industry.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations relevant to cleanroom and process environments.
- Experience in developing new business & customers
- Experience selling e.g. precision instrumentation, global account management experience a plus
Desired Skillsets:
- Strong understanding of cleanroom requirements and process control in semiconductor applications.
- Familiarity with vacuum systems, dew point monitoring, humidity control, or environmental measurements is a strong plus.
- Proven track record of building strategic relationships and achieving sales growth in a technical B2B environment.
- Hunter mindset.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% domestically, and internationally as needed.
ANTICIPATED SALARY RANGE: $100,000 - $125,000 base salary (negotiable dependent on experince) with an annual 25%-50% sales bonus plan. Salary is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
