Finance Manager

We are looking for a Finance Manager to join our Accounting and Statutory Finance team at Vaisala headquarters in Vantaa, Finland.

What's your role?

This position is a visible key role in our finance organization and a great opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic about numbers and reaching their full potential. In this role, you will take ownership of the accounting and statutory compliance for Vaisala Oyj and actively drive improvements by contributing to development projects within your area of expertise.

You will be part of our global Finance & Control organization consisting of experienced finance professionals. Accounting and Statutory Finance is a global organization with teams managed centrally from HQ and teams located in other Vaisala’s operating countries. With us your work is truly meaningful as you will enable Vaisala to solve the big environmental and societal challenges of our time. You will report to Senior Finance Manager (Accounting team).

Your main tasks are:

• Taking responsibility for general accounting (IFRS and FAS) for Vaisala Group’s parent company Vaisala Oyj.
• Preparing period-end activities, analyzing and explaining the content in P&L and balance sheet ensuring transparency and accuracy.
• Preparing annual financial statements (FAS), corporate income tax calculations and returns, VAT reporting and statistical reporting.
• Taking responsibility over statutory compliance for Vaisala Oyj in accordance with Finnish Accounting Standards.
• Driving ongoing and future improvement projects to enhance processes, quality and efficiency.

What will you bring?

• Solid accounting experience as a chief accountant or similar role in e.g. publicly listed companies, accountancy companies or from large Finnish subsidiaries of global companies.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Strong knowledge on application of general accounting principles, strong knowledge on Finnish Accounting Standards and basic understanding on IFRS.
• Excellent communication skills
• Proactive approach, analytical mindset and attention to details
• Fluent English and Finnish language skills, as both languages are needed to communicate with our international colleagues, authorities in Finland and abroad.
• Experience in SAP is considered as an asset.
