Production Technician

Position Description:

We are currently searching for a qualified Production Technician in our Louisville, Colorado office. The primary activities of the position are to manufacture sensors and systems for delivery to internal and external clients to meet specific needs.

Per Vaisala policy, the successful candidate for this role will be vaccinated against COVID-19.

 

 

In this role, you will:

  • Assemble, configure, and test equipment and systems by following established procedures, processes, and operational policies. Work directly with products and applications used to measure/monitor critical parameters in environmental and industrial settings.
  • Review standard and project orders, and provide feedback to Lead Technicians. Proactively update stakeholders about delivery status.
  • Cross train with other team members.
  • Process and monitor the sales order backlog and depot service requests.
  • Pack products.
  • Review and provide input to work instructions and product diagrams, and support new product developments and recommend changes to existing products.
  • Perform electronics and systems diagnosis and repair.
  • Inform manufacturing team leaders about changes in sales orders after order entry/booking.
  • Collaborate with others to resolve product-related customer concerns before or after delivery.
  • Assist with controlling inventory and inventory counting.
  • 5S, LEAN and Continual Improvement of the Manufacturing floor.

 

 

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent military or other experience in electronics and/or computer-information technologies.
  • 2 years manufacturing and assembly experience desired, but will also consider recent technical program graduates.
  • Manufacturing test experience desired.
  • Experience with ERP systems (Oracle preferred), including inventory management concepts and assembly processes.
  • Hands-on experience assembling, operating, troubleshooting, and/or maintaining electronics, electromechanical, computer, and communications equipment.
  • Strong working knowledge of computer systems (Windows, Linux), -- Microsoft Office tools, drivers, tools, security, and modern communications interfaces for computer applications.
  • Working knowledge of analog and digital electronic circuits. 
  • Strong multi-tasking ability to engage with multiple projects/orders in real-time.
  • Knowledge of LEAN and applied continual improvement techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills are required. Must have the ability to interact with other team members and provide them training to promote cross-functional knowledge of products and processes.
  • General knowledge of soldering and ESD material handling.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs or team lift > 75 lbs.
  • This position requires standing, sitting, kneeling and reaching.

ANTICIPATED SALARY RANGE: $24-27 an hour. (Salary is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data).  Additionally, we offer our employees a competitive benefits package which is outlined below.
