Industrial Measurements business area serves a wide range of industries and applications ranging from pharmaceutical to food industries, and from warehouses to power transformers. It offers a broad range of accurate and reliable measurement instruments based on the cutting-edge technology to help our customers optimize their processes, improve efficiency, minimize energy consumption, and ensure the high quality of their end-products. 


Position Description:
We are currently searching for a Service Sales Manager in our Woburn, Massachusetts office.  The purpose of the role is to seek growth of services through an active sales and marketing program for selling services.  In this position, you will pursue deeper understanding of our customers and markets, and lead the regional service business development program and growth initiatives.  This role also embodies the fundamental need to ensure customer satisfaction in the customer experience to drive customer loyalty.  The Service Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and overseeing the sales of Vaisala services across the Industrial Measurements’ markets in the Americas.


In this role you will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop and implement strategies to increase revenue from field service, upgrades, in-house repairs, training, and spares:
  • Define market pricing structure
  • Support internal/external technical questions, and recommend solutions for a diverse set of applications via live video meetings, phone, email, and chat  
  • Promote, qualify, quote, and follow up on service opportunities.
  • Conduct, manage, and present market research and analysis
  • Take ownership of Vaisala’s contract and agreement renewals
  • Act on Standalone service sales opportunities (separate from services sold with products)
  • Support sales in carrying out operations reviews at accounts to secure repeat orders and present service as a differentiator to successfully penetrate new business
  • Train sales channels and sales support functions on developing and selecting service offerings
  • Aid in definition and prioritization of messaging in cooperation with AMER and Global Service and Marketing


We are looking for someone who has:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 3-5 years of technical sales, service sales, or related industry experience (i.e. HVAC, environmental monitoring systems, measurement sensors) 
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Advanced understanding of technical documentation 
  • Ability to manage long-term, independent projects 
  • Ability to learn and maintain expert market, product, and application knowledge
  • Able to lead-self through time management, organization, and prioritizing tasks
  • Ability to lead by influence
  • Act with a sense of urgency, work in a collaborative team environment 
  • Customer focus with the ability to communicate service features and benefits
  • Competency with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools such as Salesforce
