Industrial Measurements business area serves a wide range of industries and applications ranging from pharmaceutical to food industries, and from warehouses to power transformers. It offers a broad range of accurate and reliable measurement instruments based on the cutting-edge technology to help our customers optimize their processes, improve efficiency, minimize energy consumption, and ensure the high quality of their end-products. 



Position Description:
We are currently searching for a Senior Industry Expert to join our Power & Energy group.  This role is primarily responsible for driving business success in Power Systems Monitoring key growth area by accumulating market knowledge and participating in influencing activities to support Vaisala sales and business development efforts. This individual will be a key contributor to ongoing and future product developments within the Power & Energy group in support of North America and Latin America markets.

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Networking and influencing industry experts in key conferences, trade organizations, and committees (e.g. IEEE P&E Society)
  • Communicating market feedback and integrating insights from within the organization to enable the creation of value propositions for our offering and contribute to long term strategy development
  • Acting as the local subject matter expert to support customer inquiries including interpretation of measurement results from devices in the field
  • Educating customers and prospects through seminars, webinars, white papers, blogs, and other marketing channels
  • Market trend analysis in the Power industry, looking at both new and existing opportunities for growth in products and systems
  • Mapping of business dynamics, customers, regulative bodies and other influencers
  • Participation in portfolio and roadmap work
  • Supporting Regional Sales managers with key accounts sales and support
  • Travel up to 25% will be required to customer sites and in support of events


We’re looking for people who have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or science background with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience preferably in condition-based monitoring of transformer or substation assets.  Master's degree is preferred.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Exceptional networking and influencing skills with the ability to clearly communicate complex information and subjects to all levels of an organization 
  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships and establish new industry partnerships
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to conceptualize the big picture and solving complex issues
  • Ability to write technical papers and create case studies and develop technical presentations
  • Experience working in a global organization with a cross functional team structure
  • Proficiency in integrated business management and CRM software
